Park It Here! Our Kids Rate Local Parks: Oakland Terrace Park

September 3, 2026

We’re searching Bay and Washington counties for the best places to play — and the kids are doing the judging!

Welcome to the first stop in our new Macaroni KID park series! Over the coming weeks, we’ll be checking out parks throughout Bay and Washington counties, sharing what families need to know and, most importantly, letting the kids give each park their official 1–10 rating.

First up: Oakland Terrace Park in Panama City!Children Playing at Park

Located at 1900 W. 11th Street, Oakland Terrace Park has plenty to keep kids busy.  Our crew especially loved the zip lines, slides, climbing features and pirate ships. There’s enough variety here that little kids can find something fun while bigger kids still have plenty to explore.

Parents get a few perks, too. The playground area is fenced, there are shaded pavilions and picnic areas where you can sit while the kids burn off some energy, and — perhaps one of the most important park amenities for parents — there are actual functioning restrooms! The City of Panama City also lists sports courts, fields and a walking track among the park’s amenities.

The Kids’ Verdict: 9/10 ⭐

Oakland Terrace was a big hit with my kids. Their only complaint?

Apparently, a cold water fountain or splash pad would have pushed it to a perfect 10.

Because evidently zip lines, pirate ships, slides and an entire playground simply aren’t enough anymore. 😂 Kids are tough critics.

Final Score: 9/10 — definitely Macaroni KID approved and a park we’ll be visiting again!

Where should we park it next? Follow along as we work our way through Bay and Washington counties to see which local park earns that elusive 10/10!
