When a child enters critical care, everything changes. Long days, longer nights, and so many unanswered questions. In those moments, a compassionate community can make all the difference.

Children's Critical Care Alliance was founded by Krystal Jett, whose experience supporting preemie families opened her eyes to a much larger need. Today, the organization serves children from birth through age 18 who are in the NICU, PICU, or facing extended hospitalizations.

The Alliance partners with hospitals, including Gulf Coast Children's Hospital, to provide comfort and resources to families while also recognizing the incredible dedication of the nurses, physicians, child life specialists, and other hospital staff caring for these children.

That support extends well beyond a single visit. Each month, the Children's Critical Care Alliance provides a dinner for patients' families and hospital staff, offering a warm meal and a moment of comfort during long and often exhausting hospital stays. The organization also regularly provides gift bags and care baskets to families spending extended periods at the hospital, reminding them that their community is thinking of them and standing beside them.Photo of volunteers

Care BasketKeeping these programs going requires year-round effort. Through ongoing fundraising, community partnerships, donations, and special events, Krystal and the Alliance work continuously to raise the resources needed to provide meals, gifts, comfort, and practical support to families when they need it most.

There are many ways for the community to be part of that mission. Children's Critical Care Alliance welcomes both donors and volunteers who want to make a difference. Whether it's making a financial contribution, donating needed items, volunteering time, supporting a fundraiser, or helping serve families and hospital staff, every contribution helps the Alliance continue showing up for children and their families.
